DCI 2013: Madison Scouts 2013 Corps of Brothers

I admire the Madison Scouts for basing their show on the life of a soldier, Marcus Luttrell, and his book Lone Survivor. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the Scouts, a feat for any corps. I am excited for this show because I have not seen anything like this, and I am excited to see how the show will carry these concepts.
I started there nails stressing over the logo, because it is a pretty detailed and complicated logo artistically. These nails turned out better as I am getting back into designing more nail art projects. I got through the challenge, and the logo came out well, to my surprise. Here they are!

I started with Essie's Da Bush, as well as Exotic Encounters and Kalahari Kiss by China Glaze. I Also used Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! by OPI and French White Tip and Black Lace Creme by NYC.

I used a small nail art brush to do this design, though I did cut the brush a bit to make it thinner.

Tip: you can mix white and black polishes with lighter and darker colors to get a custom color! Just be careful!

DCI 2013: Blue Knights No Beginning No End

As I do some much needed catching up, I am filing things around in my life! Summer School, looking for a job, and other exciting projects. Anyway, I am so excited to finish this year's DCI nail art! Also, I'm learning how to spin rifle and flag this summer! But I will Save that info for another time.

Here is this years Blue Knights show: No Beginning, No End!

First, I started off with two coats of Black Lace Creme by NYC on my pinky and ring finger, and three coats of french white tip by NYC. THe darker blue was First Mate by China Glaze and the lighter blue was Sunday Funday by China Glaze. I used a small nail art brush that I cut to make a bit smaller.

A quick tip: If you use a nail art brush for designs, dip the brush in acetone to clean off dried polish quickly. I would not recommend this too often as it can degrade the bristles.

I am also excited to see all of the corps I did this nail art for when they stop by in my city! I will do my top 10 favorite tour logos that day!

Tip: Turn off fans and try to do nail art indoors as they can increase bubbling of polish!

Thanks for viewing my nails! Have a great day! c:
